Some Kind Of Monster.
For those of you that don’t know – I just participated in an Art Tribute to Metallica “Obey Your Master” art exhibit in Los Angeles at Exhibit A Galley along side such artists as Sheperd Fairey,Travis Louie,Per Oyvind Haagensen, Gerard Way, Chad MIchael Ward, and many others … It opened Friday, January 20, 2012.
The song I chose was “Some Kind Of Monster”.
How I chose to represent it was using a model who I knew had exactly the face that I was looking for. She represents the innocence inside us. She represents the goody-two-shoes, the smile that hides the tears, She represents the mask we put on daily to hide who we are. She represents me.
Though everything looks perfect on the exterior, the dress, the cupcakes, the kitchen, the smile … She has a dark side, demons, and secrets. The things we don’t share with anyone. The things that make us tick. The uninhibited.
There’s Some Kind Of Monster in all of us.
I cannot tell you how pleased I am to announce my participation in the Official “Obey Your Master” Art Show
I will be creating a piece that represents what a certain Metallica song means to me. I will not release the name. Or the idea. But it’s going to be bubbling with epic and I can’t wait to put 100% of my energy into it when I get off tour.
This will be my first art show. The first time my work has ever been displayed in a gallery. To be considered to create a piece in this show along side some of my more inspiring peers and senior artists is a huge intimidation and enormous honor.
